![]() Has anyone figured out how to convert recent MKV with EAC to MP4 so they playback through AppleTV with 5.1 (or better) audio?Įdit: I didn't mention I use a Mac, not a PC. Older files and Netflix etc has 5.1 audio. Sound now comes through, but only 2 channels. So I started converting the audio to AAC 5.1 in MP4Tools. Played in iTunes or QuickTime on my Mac the same thing happens. I was using (Mp4Tools) on my Mac to remux mkv files to mp4. on the Mac, I'd recommend MP4Tools by EmmGunn. As far as the best software for doing this. It contains following applications: MP4Joiner is a free application that allows join multiple MP4 files into one without reencoding and without quality loss. When passing through an EAC audio stream, the result is an MP4 that doesn't have sound on AppleTV. And it would be helpful if the program tagged the audio tracks with English. This is Part III of my article series of my MKV remuxing series (last part HERE), with two main subects: Perian (and the Perian-dependent Subler) on. The only three times I do this are to be able to play natively on a device outside of Plex, to strip out unwanted tracks and thus choosing MP4 as the container in the process, or to prevent HEVC from being transcoded due to being in an MKV container. MP4Tools is a collection of cross-platform free tools to manipulate MP4 files. While MP4Tools can pass through HEVC video fine, it doesn't handle EAC audio streams so well. Say I wanted to play with that video in Final Cut Pro 7 which of course doesnt like MKVs Say Ive already tried MP4Tools, VideoContainerSwitcher, remux. However as 4k multichannel source files have become more common I've encountered some challenges. I move the resulting files to iTunes and can then play them on the Apple TV from the Computers app. I've used MP4Tools on my iMac to convert from MKV to MP4 with much success over the years. Can convert most videos without having to re-encode the video track and/or the audio track. Convert from a variety of video file formats like MKV, MP4, OGM and AVI into MP4 videos. When a video is loaded, the program displays a preview of it in the left pane. MP4tools is the part of the VIDEOtoolbox Suite of Applications used for the creation and editing of MP4 videos. I'm sure plenty of us have obtained a bunch of MKV files somehow, and wanted to play those movies and TV shows back at the highest fidelity via their Apple TV. MP4Splitter supports the following video formats: MP4, AVI, MKV, MOV, MPEG, MPG, MTS, OGG, OGM, WEBM and WMV.
